An overdrive / distortion plugin with an optional cabinet simulator for your logue-sdk compatible synthesizers.

As always, these are to be used at your own risk!

A quick word...

I've been having a ton of fun creating these plugins. If you like stuff like this and my other work, by all means feel free to contribute whatever you can to help support this!

Ensure you have the KORG minilogue/prologue/NTS1 sound librarian installed. Now, before you do anything else, perform a full and complete backup of your synthesizer and save this to disk before continuing. See the sound librarian manual for instructions on how to do this if required.

Next, select the USER DELAY FX tab on the librarian, and drag and drop the requisite file to an available slot in the librarian :

  • for minilogue xd users, please use cabernet.mnlgxdunit
  • for prologue users, please use cabernet.prlgunit.
  • NTS-1 can use either file.

This delay effect has 3 functions:

  • Time / "A" : Sets the overdrive level. The output level is somewhat compensated as you increase the overall distortion.
  • Depth / "B" : Sets the tone control - left for less high frequency right for more high frequency.
  • Shift+Depth (hold delay and adjust "B" on NTS1) : Cabinet Selection / bypass:
Cabinets available from lowest value to highest:
  • Combo
  • 2x12
  • 4x12
  • Megaphone
  • None (output is stereo)

Note! Cabinet simulation - despite using straight assembly code - is still admittedly quite CPU intensive. Thus, with the cabinet simulator ON, the output result will be MONO... However, if you disable the cabinet simulator (shift-depth set to 100% / delay+b on NTS1 to 100%), the output will be in stereo.

Synthesizer sounds seem to work best with the cabinet simulator bypassed - but this is entirely up to you!

  • Another note on cabinet simulation:Currently as tested, the cabinet simulator is compatible with the default choruses and reverbs. As the cabinet simulator is quite CPU heavy, it is entirely likely that the effect may not be compatible with other user mod effects while the cabinet simulator is enabled.

As always, use at your own risk!

Regardless, with the logue-sdk, custom delays and custom reverbs of any type cannot be used together.
